Real estate leads services sector growth with 24.7% jump in June 2026

June 2026 saw real estate outpace all other services categories, expanding 24.7% year-on-year, according to MoSPI data.

According to the latest Index of Services Production released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, real estate recorded the fastest expansion among 19 tracked services sub-sectors in June 2026, climbing 24.7% year-on-year. The next fastest growers were retail trade at 18%, wholesale trade at 15.1%, administrative and support services at 14.4%, and IT and computer-related services at 13.5%. Overall, eight sub-sectors posted double-digit growth and 18 showed positive growth, indicating a widespread upswing in the services economy.

The strong services performance aligns with broader macro-economic gains, as India’s real GDP rose 7.8% in the April-June quarter of FY27, beating the Reserve Bank of India’s prior 7% projection. Nominal GDP reached Rs 88.27 lakh crore, up 10.3% from the previous year’s quarter. The RBI has revised its full-year FY27 growth outlook to 6.7%, and MoSPI will publish the next quarterly GDP estimate on November 30.
