Real Madrid posts record €1.22 billion operating revenue, first club to top €1.2 billion

Real Madrid’s 2025-26 accounts reveal operating revenue of €1.221 billion, the first time any sports organization has exceeded the €1.2 billion threshold.

Real Madrid’s board signed off on the 2025-26 financial statements, reporting €1.221 billion in operating revenue - the first sports entity to break the €1.2 billion mark. The increase, up 3.1% year-on-year, stems largely from a doubled stadium income and an 82% jump in marketing and sponsorship deals, while broadcast and competition money grew only modestly. EBITDA reached €287.4 million, an 18% rise, and net profit after tax hit €26.3 million, continuing a streak of profitability dating back to 2000.

The renovated Bernabéu now generates more than twice its pre-renovation revenue, despite a €1.408 billion construction cost financed mainly by a €1.108 billion loan. Deloitte’s Football Money League places Real Madrid at the top for the third straight year, with €1.161 billion in calendar-year revenue, outpacing Barcelona and other European giants. The club kept wage and amortisation costs to 46% of revenue, below its 50% ceiling, and retained a strong balance sheet with €624 million in equity and minimal net debt.

Why it matters

The record revenue shows how football clubs can grow financially through stadium assets and sponsorships, reducing reliance on match results.
