Real Madrid seal €80m double transfer to Fulham for Garcia and Palacios

Real Madrid have finalized a dual transfer package with Fulham, sending forward Gonzalo Garcia to the English side for €70 million, the club's highest sale of the window. In addition, midfielder Cesar Palacios will move for €10 million, with Madrid retaining a 30 percent interest in his economic rights. The moves follow Fulham head coach Alvaro Arbeloa's appointment earlier this month, during which he sought to bring Garcia back to his former teammate.

Despite Jose Mourinho's initial hesitation to lose the young forward, an agreement was reached that includes a right of first refusal on Garcia. By surrendering all future sell-on clauses for Garcia, Madrid aims to maximise the immediate fee. The cash generated is earmarked for potential signings of Yan Diomande and Rodri before the summer window closes.
