Reality TV influencer Mackayla Paige fatally shot in Oakland after late-night Instagram post
Twenty-nine-year-old reality star Mackayla Paige, known as Kash, was shot dead in downtown Oakland early Sunday, hours after posting Instagram Stories of her night out.
Mackayla Paige, 29, who rose to fame on shows like Real West Coast Baddies and Young & Reckless under the name Kash, was shot dead in Oakland shortly after 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Officers responding to the 200 block of 14th Street found her wounded; she was transported to a hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. Investigators have taken a Richmond woman into custody, but have not disclosed her name or a motive.
Kash had posted Instagram Stories earlier that night showing herself enjoying a Saturday outing. Relatives and friends, including cousin Nicky Clayton and friend known as Poodahh, gathered to honor her, describing her as ambitious and charismatic. The Oakland Police Department’s Homicide Section continues to seek information from the public.
