Reality TV Star Amber Eggers Dies at 41 from Acute Liver Failure

Amber Eggers, known for her 2019 stint on WE TV’s reality series “Love After Lockup,” died on Sept. 3 at a Georgia hospital due to acute liver failure, aged 41. While incarcerated for a four-year drug-trafficking conviction, she was featured in Season 2 of the show, during which partner Vincent Gonzalez proposed to her; the couple split after her release. Eggers continued to appear in later installments of the franchise, including “Life After Lockup,” beginning around 2021.

In 2025 her health began to deteriorate, leading her sister Erin to start a GoFundMe campaign after Amber was hospitalized with severe pneumonia and a bacterial blood infection. Over a year later, her mother Monica reported that doctors could no longer keep her heart beating, and she succumbed to acute liver failure.
