Reality TV star and billionaire heiress sued for $2 million real-estate loan fraud
Former “Rich Kids of Beverly Hills” star Brendan Fitzpatrick and his wife Chloe are accused in a lawsuit of borrowing $2 million from friend Max Jan Fowles-Pazdro for a UK property project and never repaying it.
A civil suit alleges that Brendan Fitzpatrick, a former reality-TV personality, and his wife Chloe, the daughter of Canadian billionaire Sophie Desmarais, solicited a $2 million loan from close friend Max Jan Fowles-Pazdro for a real-estate development in the United Kingdom. Fitzpatrick pledged to begin repayments within six weeks, but the money has not been returned after two years. Throughout that period the couple is said to have maintained a high-profile, luxury lifestyle, including a social-media post of them on a Mediterranean yacht.
The complaint cites multiple messages in which the Fitzpatricks assured the lenders that the loan would be repaid, even suggesting they could draw on Chloe’s family wealth, and at one point offered to double the amount owed. The failure to repay has allegedly led to default notices on the plaintiffs’ properties and forced an early sale to meet obligations. The lawsuit seeks the principal, interest, and attorneys’ fees, while Fitzpatrick also faces separate litigation over an alleged Ponzi scheme tied to a Sri Lankan mining venture called Carbonatik.
