They criticize her decision to force the resignation of former Police Chief Shon Barnes following a shooting at the Bite of Seattle event that killed three people, saying the move undermined fiscal responsibility and department stability.

The complaint also alleges that Wilson ignored repeated pleas from North Aurora residents about life-threatening conditions, including human sex trafficking and gunfire incidents, and that she ordered the deactivation of CCTV cameras in the Stadium District and Little Saigon after the World Cup. Further, the petition claims a general decline in safety across Belltown and Little Saigon, citing lowered officer morale, staffing shortages, and increased criminal activity that deters residents and tourists. If prosecutors deem the filing valid, a legal process will begin that could lead to a signature-gathering phase and a possible special recall election.
