Red Alert declared in Sibiu after dozens report possible food poisoning symptoms
Authorities activated a Red Intervention Plan in Sibiu on Saturday night after several attendees at an Avrig event hall reported symptoms consistent with food poisoning, with 11 people currently being examined.
The Red Intervention Plan was triggered in the Sibiu region following complaints of food-borne illness from patrons of an event venue in Avrig. Medical crews arrived on site, and eleven individuals are now undergoing evaluation for the reported symptoms. Three SMURD teams, including one with a physician, six county ambulance units and a special-purpose vehicle were dispatched, while additional daytime crews stand by for further assistance if needed.
