Red rain-flood alert issued for Gard and Hérault on September 30

Météo-France announced a red-level rain-flood warning for the Gard and Hérault departments on Wednesday, effective from 8 a.m. until midnight. The bulletin cites a strengthening Cévenol episode that began overnight and is expected to bring intense, short-duration precipitation across the Languedoc area. Forecasts also call for persistent, sometimes thunderous rain in western Provence and afternoon storms over the Massif Central.

Elsewhere in the country, clouds will linger with occasional showers in the Alps, Jura, Pays de Loire, Centre-Val de Loire, Normandy and Picardy.
