Reform UK faces police probe over alleged foreign donation scheme after undercover sting
Reform UK is under criminal investigation after undercover footage showed senior figures discussing how to conceal foreign donations, prompting the suspension of Dan Jukes and James Orr.
An undercover operation by Verbatim, posing as an American donor, was broadcast by Channel 4 and revealed senior Reform UK members talking about ways to hide foreign contributions. The footage led to the suspension of long-time aide Dan Jukes and policy head James Orr while the Metropolitan Police assess potential offences under the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000. This investigation joins a separate Met Special Enquiry Team probe that started in February 2025 after a referral from the Electoral Commission concerning donations before the 2024 general election.
No arrests have been made and Reform UK maintains it has done nothing illegal, pledging full cooperation. Nigel Farage said he was not listening during the encounter and suggested the money might have come from a global family office based in London. The Liberal Democrats condemned the alleged misconduct, calling for any Reform MPs who benefited from foreign money to come forward.
