Reform UK unveils S.A.F.E. plan to overhaul policing and end ‘woke’ policies

Reform UK introduced its S.A.F.E. plan, promising more officers, expanded stop-and-search powers and the removal of diversity initiatives from British policing.

Reform UK announced its S.A.F.E. policing strategy, aiming to restore what it describes as equal enforcement across the United Kingdom. Central to the plan are 30,000 new police officers and a significant expansion of stop-and-search powers to address thefts, muggings and other low-level crimes. The party vows to end early release for serious criminals and to eliminate DEI policies from the College of Policing, arguing they hinder effective law enforcement.

Additional measures include bans on balaclavas, crackdowns on illegal e-bikes and stricter action against anti-social disorder. Reform UK also highlights the low conviction rate for sexual offences, proposing tougher sentencing and higher prison usage for offenders. The proposal is presented as a comprehensive response to what the party sees as a collapse of law and order under current policing policies.

Why it matters

The plan could reshape policing priorities, resources and accountability across the UK if implemented.
