Rep. Al Green files new impeachment articles against Trump over ICE deaths
Democratic Representative Al Green introduced impeachment articles targeting President Donald Trump, citing civilian deaths linked to ICE actions.
On Monday, Democratic Rep. Al Green of Texas submitted a set of impeachment articles against President Donald Trump, labeling his conduct as high crimes and misdemeanors. The resolution characterizes ICE and CBP as quota-driven, secretive police entities that have assaulted individuals and covered up unjustified civilian killings. It references the deaths of Renée Good, Alex Pretti, and other victims attributed to ICE agents.
Green's language calls the president a threat to democracy and the Constitution. Although Green previously introduced similar articles as recently as June 2025, those measures failed to gain sufficient House support. The new filing reiterates accusations that Trump personally oversaw these agencies' lethal actions.
Why it matters
The impeachment move revives a contentious effort to hold a former president accountable for alleged abuses by immigration enforcement.
