Rep. Jamie Raskin says Democrats could pursue a second Trump impeachment
Jamie Raskin told Meet the Press that a future Democratic majority in the House could consider impeaching Donald Trump again.
On a journalist at one outlet the Press, Representative Jamie Raskin explained that impeachment is a permissible option for Democrats if they regain control of the House. He emphasized that the Constitution gave Congress, not the courts, the power to remove a president and that it should be used when necessary. Raskin asserted that Donald Trump has already engaged in impeachable conduct, mentioning actions like waging war without a formal declaration and repeatedly undermining congressional appropriations.
He also warned that the administration’s policies have stripped millions of people of Medicaid coverage and ACA tax credits. Host Kristen Welker asked whether Trump’s behavior meets the threshold for impeachment, to which Raskin replied affirmatively, describing the administration as the most corrupt in history.
