Jason Crow, a senior member of the Armed Services and Intelligence Committees, said he has not been briefed on the recent polygraph examinations of senior military officials, a step taken after Secretary Pete Hegseth dismissed over 80 senior officers. He described the purge as creating a climate of fear, suppressing journalists, and concealing a critical depletion of the nation’s sophisticated weapons stockpiles. Crow argued that the United States should reduce its 50,000-plus troop presence in the Middle East, a level that has persisted since the 9/11 attacks, to save taxpayers’ money and become more agile.
He also noted bipartisan work to revive the Special Immigrant Visa program for Afghan allies who remain under restrictive immigration rules. Finally, Crow accused one outlet administration of pervasive corruption that diverts funds meant for health care, housing and farms in Colorado, and said he will pursue accountability, including impeachment if necessary.
