Rep. Ro Khanna claims Democrats have a smarter national-security approach

Vance and Donald Trump, who once promised to end endless wars, have instead become entangled in a new Middle-East conflict against a fierce adversary.

Khanna highlighted logistical shortfalls, noting shortages of ammunition and the impact of high food and fuel costs on troops. He blamed administration officials and Republican leaders such as Ted Cruz for miscalculations about Iran’s population that have led to a strategic mess. The congressman warned that Iran might tighten its grip on the Strait of Hormuz, threatening global shipping. Finally, he suggested that only Democratic action to cut war funding could compel a change, implying that Trump’s lack of electoral concern leaves Democrats as the primary check.
