Report claims Muslim Brotherhood is infiltrating Canadian NGOs and universities

A 200-page study by the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy alleges that the Muslim Brotherhood is using charities, advocacy groups and university ties to push pro-Palestinian and anti-Islamophobia agendas in Canada.

The Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy released a 200-page report accusing the Muslim Brotherhood of a coordinated effort to infiltrate Canadian civil society via charities, advocacy groups and university partnerships. According to the study, the Brotherhood channels money through complex financial routes tied to Qatar to support pro-Palestinian activism and anti-Islamophobia narratives that, in turn, stoke antisemitism.

Organizations such as the Canadian Muslim Public Affairs Council and The Canadian-Muslim Vote are alleged to run targeted voting campaigns in 60-80 constituencies. The report also flags limited-disclosure research funding from Qatar’s Investment Fund and National Research Fund to the University of Toronto, Waterloo and Toronto Metropolitan University. The accused groups have denied any foreign ties, labeling the report as biased Islamophobic propaganda, while a lawyer for TCMV has issued a libel notice. The study calls for tighter oversight of foreign funding and university partnerships in Canada.

Why it matters

It raises concerns about foreign influence on Canadian politics, academia and community groups.
