Republican Congressman Ryan Mackenzie Accused of Inflating Real Estate Background Ahead of Reelection

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has charged Rep. Ryan Mackenzie with fabricating a real-estate sales background, asserting that his résumé lists a private-sector career that did not exist. The allegation builds on earlier controversy in which Mackenzie was reported to have lied about his age on a Tinder profile in 2020. While his LinkedIn shows a Pennsylvania real-estate license obtained in 2006 and expired in 2008, his campaign refused to confirm whether he ever practiced or made any sales, dismissing the credential as a “passing mention.”

His office also ignored requests for comment on the Tinder claim and reports of a staffer editing his Wikipedia entry. Mackenzie, who narrowly won the 7th congressional district in 2024, is running against Democrat Bob Brooks, former fire-fighters association president, whom he has repeatedly labeled a “fraud” and “conman.” The DCCC portrays Mackenzie as a career politician aligned with President Trump and policies that have raised costs for Americans, while highlighting the résumé discrepancies ahead of the upcoming midterm election.
