The conflict erupted around 20:00 on Thursday in Voluntari, prompting Alice to dial 112 and claim she had been physically assaulted. The general’s wife, aged 60, later called the police at about 01:24, stating that her husband had departed with a legally owned pistol.
A family member spotted Ioniță’s vehicle in Păulești the next morning and reported it; police entered the dwelling, found a fatal gunshot wound and a 9×19 mm handgun nearby. Authorities are focusing on suicide as the primary scenario, though the exact cause of death remains to be. The case is being investigated by Prahova police.
