Rick Beato praises 13-year-old Sydney singer's debut single

Music analyst Rick Beato lauded the debut track of 13-year-old Sydney performer Niko Karolia, highlighting its strong melody and songwriting.

Rick Beato, the YouTube creator known for breaking down popular songs, praised the debut single of 13-year-old Sydney artist Niko Karolia, calling its melody strong enough to stand alone. In a conversation with Hamish Macdonald on 702 one outlet Sydney Mornings, Beato identified a songwriting technique similar to that used in nursery rhymes, where a musical question is answered by the next phrase. He highlighted the track's natural resolution and memorable "da da, da da" motif.

Karolia shared her goal of becoming a worldwide pop star, and her father, Imz Karolia, spoke about her early interest in music and the performing-arts training she received from age four. Beato will travel to Australia in October for live shows, including a larger Sydney venue due to high demand.

Why it matters

The endorsement from a prominent music analyst could boost the young artist's visibility and career prospects.
