Ringier trims 14 jobs in Lausanne as part of West-Swiss restructuring

Ringier Medien Schweiz disclosed a restructuring that will result in the termination of 14 positions at its Lausanne base, six of which are editorial posts. A social plan and individualized measures will be provided to the affected staff. The company attributes the cuts to sustained pressure on traditional print and advertising revenues, which have not been fully offset by the expansion of digital offerings like Blick Romandie.

To boost efficiency, Ringier plans to integrate its Romandie and German-Swiss editorial units, sharing content, research, technology and infrastructure while preserving the distinct voice of the French-speaking region. The restructuring coincides with the departure of PME’s editor-in-chief Thierry Vial. Ringier stresses its commitment to maintaining strong, audience-focused media in the Romandie while deepening collaboration with its German-Swiss counterparts.
