Ringleader and accomplice sentenced to life for torture murder of transgender man
Precious Arzuaga and Jennifer Quijano received life without parole for the brutal killing of Sam Nordquist in upstate New York.
In Ontario County, Precious Arzuaga and her former partner Jennifer Quijano were each handed life sentences without the possibility of parole for orchestrating the torture and murder of 24-year-old transgender man Sam Nordquist. The pair admitted guilt to first-degree murder, kidnapping, conspiracy and aggravated sexual abuse, among other offenses. Court officials said the victim endured weeks of physical and sexual violence inside a motel room before being found dead in a field in Yates County.
The prosecution highlighted the involvement of six additional participants, including two children, and noted that the motive appeared to be jealousy over Arzuaga’s attention. Two other defendants have pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and kidnapping, while three more are scheduled for trial in January.
