Rivian CFO Claire McDonough to Depart in October, Interim Leader Named

Rivian announced that chief financial officer Claire McDonough will leave the firm at the end of October and will be succeeded temporarily by finance vice president Derek Mulvey.

In a regulatory filing, Rivian disclosed that CFO Claire McDonough plans to resign by the end of October to pursue a new role and move to the East Coast near family. The company emphasized that her exit is not tied to any dispute. Finance vice president Derek Mulvey will act as interim CFO while Rivian searches for a permanent replacement. The change occurs as the automaker expands production of its R2 SUV, which began deliveries this summer.

Why it matters

The CFO change could affect Rivian's financial strategy as it ramps up production of its new R2 SUV.
