Riyadh schools shift to online classes for a week after airport attacks

Riyadh schools will conduct distance learning for the coming week after the airport attacks, following a Ministry of Education order.

In response to deadly attacks at the capital's airport, the Ministry of Education directed all schools in Riyadh to switch to remote instruction for an entire week. Parents were informed by email that classes would be held online. This is the second time in less than a month that such a measure has been taken, aiming to keep education running while addressing safety concerns.

Why it matters

The decision disrupts education for thousands and shows how security incidents can affect everyday services.
