RN lawmaker claims party draws infiltrators after antisemitic aide dismissed
RN deputy Jean-Philippe Tanguy said the party attracts “infiltrated” individuals after an aide was fired for antisemitic posts.
During an appearance on BFM politique, RN deputy Jean-Philippe Tanguy described the party as a magnet for “poor types” who join like “plate-picking” infiltrators. He linked this comment to the recent dismissal of a parliamentary assistant in the Bouches-du-Rhône, whose online posts contained antisemitic jokes, collaborationist reading lists and fascist slogans, a story.
Tanguy said the RN has expelled many “crazy” members but they remain hidden within the ranks. He defended Jordan Bardella, affirming absolute confidence in the party’s leader despite the controversy. Tanguy also criticized journalists for exaggerating the issue and suggested the episode is part of a broader attempt to discredit elite media-political circles. The incident adds pressure to Marine Le Pen’s effort to “de-radicalize” the party’s image.
Why it matters
