RNC launches public ticket lottery for massive September midterm convention in Dallas

The Republican National Committee opened a lottery on August 15 that lets Americans apply for tickets to its September 9-10 midterm convention in Dallas.

The Republican National Committee announced that starting August 15, anyone can enter a lottery at gopconvention.com to obtain tickets for its September 9-10 midterm convention in Dallas, the largest gathering since 2016 with capacity exceeding 20,000 including media. Applicants may request admission for either day or both, and those chosen will be contacted on September 4 with a 24-hour window to confirm. Selected attendees could receive front-row VIP seats and will be able to watch a program that includes Donald Trump and a victory plaza with entertainment and food.

The RNC is also recruiting about 750 volunteers per day from the Dallas area, and RNC Chairman Joe Gruters described the event as a “giant unity rally” to showcase Trump, Republican achievements and motivate supporters for the upcoming elections. Messaging themes will emphasize tax cuts, border security, fraud crackdowns and portray the Democratic Party as moving toward socialism. Funding details note MAGA Inc. holds over $400 million and the RNC has $128 million on hand, while a recent Supreme Court decision permits unlimited coordinated spending.

Why it matters

Opening the convention to the public aims to mobilize voters and boost Republican enthusiasm ahead of the midterm elections.
