RNC reports record $130.3 million cash pile after July fundraising surge
The Republican National Committee said it collected $19.4 million in July, leaving it with a historic $130.3 million on hand.
According to figures first shared with one outlet, the Republican National Committee raised $19.4 million in July, pushing its cash reserves to a record $130.3 million. RNC Chairman Joe Gruters praised the war chest as a tool to counter the “far-left’s insanity” and to support GOP candidates nationwide. The Democratic National Committee ended June with $16.3 million cash and more than $18 million in debt, and its July filing has not yet been released.
Donald Trump’s super-PAC, MAGA Inc., sits on about $400 million, which the president says will be deployed for Republican campaigns. A Supreme Court decision in NRSC v. FEC eliminated caps on coordinated spending, allowing the RNC to work directly with candidates on advertising and voter outreach. An RNC official noted the committee will now allocate its funds strategically in target races as the primary season winds down, while the party looks ahead to its midterm convention in Texas.
Why it matters
The RNC’s record cash reserves could shape funding dynamics in the upcoming midterm elections.
