Road-rage assault in Bandra leaves fitness trainer and wife shaken
A fitness trainer and his wife were attacked by five men wielding sticks after a vehicle confrontation in Bandra, and their car’s windows were shattered.
While driving back to Mahim after dinner, Arjun Garewal and his wife Bhakti were intercepted by an SUV that repeatedly overtook and slowed in front of them on SV Road in Bandra. The occupants, five men armed with baseball and hockey sticks, chased the couple’s car, physically assaulted Garewal, and smashed the front, rear and driver-side windows while Bhakti sat in the front seat. Police arrived following a 100 call, detained three individuals—Anas K, Bilal Shaikh and Rajen—and filed an FIR under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for assault and criminal intimidation.
The three were later released after being served notices, and investigators continue to probe the case. Garewal noted the SUV’s registration number, aiding the police investigation.
