Robbery at Elliade jewelry shop in Lyon leaves two staff detained and suspect on the run

On Tuesday morning, shortly before midday, a robbery took place at the Elliade jewelry store located in the Saint-Georges quarter of Vieux-Lyon. During the theft, two employees were confined in the shop's restroom as the perpetrator collected the loot. The RAID tactical team was dispatched, fearing a possible hostage scenario, but the robber had already departed when they arrived.
Police have surrounded the area to collect initial clues and to estimate the damage, though the amount remains unknown. According to a regional source, the masked individual told the staff, "I don't want to hurt you, I have debts." The two employees were later released unharmed but shaken. The investigation is now being handled by the organized crime division of the Direction interdépartementale de la police nationale du Rhône (DIPN 69).
