Robert Brown assumes command of U.S. 2nd Infantry Division in South Korea
Brig. Gen. Robert Brown took over as commanding general of the U.S. 2nd Infantry Division/South Korea-U.S. Combined Division during a ceremony at Camp Humphreys.
At Camp Humphreys, about 60 km south of Seoul, Brig. Gen. Robert Brown was officially installed as the new commanding general of the 2nd Infantry Division/South Korea-U.S. Combined Division. He takes over from Brig.
Gen. Jason Rosenstrauch, who had been acting commander. During the ceremony, Lt. Gen. Joseph Hilbert highlighted the importance of training for real-world conflict to maintain peace on the peninsula and voiced confidence in Brown’s capabilities. Brown, referred to by his nickname, acknowledged the strength of the U.S.-South Korea alliance and called the appointment a lifetime honor. The division remains the sole U.S. Army formation permanently stationed forward in the region.
