Robot.com unveils four-legged delivery dog that can climb stairs and display ads

Robot.com’s new R-dog prototype combines wheels and articulated legs so it can roll across sidewalks and climb stairs, tackling the final stretch of autonomous deliveries that wheeled bots cannot finish. The cargo bay can hold multiple food orders or packages, and an unattended drop-off mechanism releases the correct item at the destination, though the sorting method remains unclear. Two built-in video screens connected to the R-ads platform will broadcast advertisements as the robot moves, creating a dual-revenue model.

Navigation relies on FieldAI’s foundation models, enabling the robot to adapt to dynamic environments without pre-mapped routes, while the REMI platform integrates R-dog into Robot.com’s existing fleet management system. The company, founded in 2017 with operations in the United States, Canada, Dubai and other MENA markets, plans a commercial launch in 2027, starting with college campuses and offering businesses early access to delivery and advertising pilots.
