Robots march in Warsaw calling for AI regulation and worker protection

In Warsaw, roughly thirty robots - ranging from bipedal humanoids to dog-like quadrupeds - gathered outside the Polish digital affairs ministry to demand regulation of artificial intelligence and robotisation. The rally, arranged by the initiative Democratism, featured loud chants like “Defend workplaces” and “Don’t wait, regulate.” Organiser Grzegorz Kulis, who also serves as a CIO of a robotics firm and a former labour-market council member, said the robots themselves illustrate how the technology is already present and highlight the urgency of safeguards for workers.

Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski visited the site, warning that uncontrolled AI models embedded in humanoids pose a major problem as they continue to evolve. Kulis stressed the need for rules to shield jobs, especially in cognitive tasks. The protest comes after President Karol Nawrocki signed legislation that adopts the EU AI Act and creates a national authority to enforce it.
