Rockstar unveils 90-second GTA VI launch trailer highlighting Vice City and new soundtrack

Rockstar Games released a 90-second launch trailer for GTA VI that previews Vice City locations, hints at the story and features a new music collaboration.

Rockstar Games posted a 90-second launch trailer for GTA VI, offering a rapid look at the fictional Vice City, a recreation of Miami and its surroundings. The video introduces the premise that characters Jason and Lucia are drawn into a sprawling criminal conspiracy across the state of Leonida after a simple plan goes wrong. Musical accompaniment comes from the French electronic duo Justice, collaborating with Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, who are also listed as composers of the game’s original score.

In Germany, the USK rated the title 18+, noting that violence is heavily visualized, drug use is depicted positively and criminal activities are presented without criticism. Marketing efforts will feature the Miami Heat adopting Vice City attire for a night at the Kaseya Center, where the “Welcome to Vice City” sign already appears. Additional coverage includes a making-of piece by journalist Jason Schreier for Bloomberg.

Why it matters

The trailer signals the final promotional push for a highly anticipated game and reveals its mature content rating.
