Rocky Flintoff shines with maiden one-day century as Lancashire exit Cup

Rocky Flintoff, the 18-year-old son of former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, recorded a maiden senior one-day century - 123 against Somerset - as Lancashire progressed to the knockout phase of the One-Day Cup. Over eight games he amassed 315 runs at a 63 average, prompting Lancashire coach Steven Croft to commend his composure and skill. Former England great David Lloyd urged that Flintoff be accelerated into the senior England squad, calling him an international-level talent.

The youngster, who previously set age records for Lancashire and England Under-19s, missed the 2025 first-team season due to injuries and a focus on youth internationals. Though yet to feature in The Hundred or the T20 Blast, his recent form may see him recalled for the red-ball County Championship when it resumes. Decisions about his future will also consider upcoming England-Pakistan youth ODIs and input from his family.
