Rod Stewart Announces Final Tour Before Retiring from Live Performances
The 81-year-old singer revealed that his upcoming April shows at Dublin’s 3Arena will be his last, marking the end of a six-decade touring career.
Veteran vocalist Rod Stewart, now 81, confirmed that his next series of concerts will be his final live shows, dubbing the run “The Final Encore.” The tour launches in April at Dublin’s 3Arena and will feature classic tracks such as “Maggie May” and “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” Stewart expressed gratitude to fans for a career that began when he was 19.
Opening acts for the UK and Ireland leg will include Howard Jones, known for hits like “What Is Love?”; a European opener has yet to be named. Ticket sales start on Tuesday. The decision comes after Stewart underwent a successful heart angioplasty with a stent and shortly after becoming a grandfather for the sixth time when his daughter Ruby welcomed a son, Otis, with partner Jake Kalick.
