Roketsan successfully fires Sungur missile from mobile Burç air defence platform
Turkish defence contractor Roketsan hit a moving aerial target in the first test of its Sungur missile launched from the mobile Burç system.
In a maiden trial, Roketsan destroyed a moving aerial target using the Sungur missile launched from the Burç mobile air-defence platform. The demonstration integrates the missile with the vehicle’s 20/30 mm cannon and active-passive sensors, expanding Turkey's layered air-defence architecture. Roketsan describes Burç as a next-generation, cost-effective solution that can safeguard forward and rear-area forces against short-range threats.
The Sungur missile, with a range exceeding 8 km, is also suitable for shoulder-launched operations and can be mounted on various platforms. The successful test underscores Turkey's push for indigenous, flexible air-defence capabilities.
