Romanian agriculture agency launches first advance subsidy payments to farmers
The Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture began disbursing advance payments for the 2026 agricultural campaign, sending funds to farmers on the first day of the payout schedule.
On Friday, the Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture (APIA) initiated the first tranche of advance payments for the 2026 agricultural campaign, sending funds to a large number of farmers. Agriculture Minister Tanczos Barna highlighted that transfers were processed by 8:00 a.m., commending APIA employees for beginning work at 2:00 a.m. to expedite the payouts. He indicated that the disbursement rhythm will be maintained in the following days to get money into farmers' accounts quickly.
In parallel, the agency plans to deliver exceptional state aid to those hit by the 2025 pedological drought and to pig and cattle breeders before the end of 2026. These measures aim to secure the financial resources needed for continued agricultural activity.
Why it matters
