Romanian Chief of Defence Staff Joins NATO Military Committee Conference in Copenhagen

In Copenhagen, the NATO Military Committee convened its defence-chiefs format, bringing together representatives from all 32 alliance members. The session was chaired by Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, president of the Committee, and included General Alexus G. Grynkewich, Supreme Allied Commander Europe, and Admiral Pierre Vandier, Supreme Allied Commander Transformation. Romania’s General Gheorghiță Vlad participated as the nation’s chief of defence staff, underscoring Bucharest’s engagement in NATO’s strategic consultations.

Delegates examined how to apply the outcomes of the Ankara summit, with particular emphasis on strengthening deterrence, advancing collective defence, adopting emerging technologies, and continuing support for Ukraine. The agenda also covered NATO operations, missions, exercises and capability development across the alliance’s eastern flank.
