Romanian Defence Ministry debunks fabricated youth conscription notice circulating online
The Ministry of Defence confirmed that a fake document claiming an emergency draft of young Romanians is false and has no legal basis.
A false notice resembling an official conscription order for Romanian youths has been circulating on messaging platforms, allegedly from the Ilfov County Military Center and addressed to a person born after 2000. The Ministry of Defence publicly refuted the claim, describing it as a baseless manipulation effort unrelated to any legal procedure. The ministry clarified that one outlet MOBEX B-IF-26 training exercise, taking place in Bucharest and Ilfov, is limited to reservists already on military rolls and does not involve calling or training inexperienced young citizens.
Such MOBEX drills are routine and announced in advance. The Defence Ministry urged the public to verify information only through its official channels and avoid sharing alarmist material.
Why it matters
