Romanian finance minister seeks U.S. investment for energy and tech projects in New York
Romania's finance minister met investors in New York to discuss funding for strategic energy, infrastructure, technology and production projects.
In New York, Romania's finance minister held a series of meetings aimed at securing American investment for the country's strategic projects in energy, infrastructure, technology and manufacturing capacity. He briefed investors, including J.P. Morgan and institutional bond holders, on Romania's public-finance outlook, fiscal consolidation efforts and financing strategy.
The discussions also covered recent dialogues with the U.S. administration, the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, the U.S. EXIM Bank and members of Congress. A scheduled meeting with Ben Black, CEO of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, will continue talks on possible financing instruments and the role of Romanian banks in structuring deals. The initiative seeks to link Romania's security agenda with its economic goals and strengthen the economic component of the Romania-U.S. Strategic Partnership.
