Romanian-German raid dismantles family-run sex trafficking ring
Romanian and German authorities seized a family-based trafficking network, detaining seven suspects while another seven remain at large.
A joint Romanian-German investigative team, supported by Europol and operating under Eurojust, carried out 20 searches in Argeș, Constanța and Augsburg, resulting in the detention of seven individuals linked to an organized trafficking ring. The group, allegedly formed in 2024 around family ties, is accused of luring vulnerable women with false romantic relationships and transporting them to Germany for forced prostitution.
Four members allegedly managed the cross-border logistics, including vehicle transport and rental of premises, while two women and one man are charged with laundering the proceeds. The network also posted victim profiles online to attract clients and transferred earnings between the two countries. Seven further suspects are said to be avoiding legal action.
