Romanian judges and senior officials travel on private jet to Mykonos funded by Chamber of Commerce
A group of Romanian judges, former ministers and business leaders flew to Mykonos on a private aircraft whose cost was covered by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania.
Journalists reported that a private jet took off from Bucharest's Aurel Vlaicu International Airport carrying thirteen passengers, among them Constitutional Court judge Cristian Deliorga, Tribunal of Constanța president Marius Cătălin Croitoru, former prime minister Victor Ponta, former labour minister Petre-Florin Manole, UDMR senator István-Loránt Antal and several businessmen, including a previously convicted entrepreneur.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania confirmed it financed the flight, describing the charter as a private, non-governmental service used for a business meeting with investors from the United States. It emphasized that the organisation has used similar hourly-rate contracts with operators such as Toyo Aviation for years, with no extra charges for additional passengers. The Chamber’s president said the presence of the judges reflected long-standing personal connections, not official state business.
