Romanian prosecutors indict Andrew and Tristan Tate on multiple serious charges

Romanian prosecutors have officially indicted social-media influencer Andrew Tate and his sibling Tristan on charges that include trafficking minors, money laundering, sex with a minor and witness tampering, with Tristan also charged with complicity. The brothers were taken into custody in Miami in July after Britain sought their extradition, and they have since appeared before a Florida court seeking release to fight the UK case, which involves rape and trafficking allegations.

Andrew Tate maintains he never committed the crimes, while Tristan complained about the small, overheated cell and limited exercise, saying he has lost weight. Their attorney, Howard Srebnick, likens Tate’s online persona to a satirical character and argues that claims of multiple passports and a $50-million superyacht are false, with luxury cars reportedly rented for videos. The extradition hearing date remains unset, and the United Kingdom has until mid-September to provide supporting evidence to the U.S. State Department.
