Roof collapse sparks massive blaze at Beverly Hills apartment complex

Around mid-morning on South Rexford Drive, a large multi-alarm fire consumed the roof of an apartment building in Beverly Hills, leading to a partial collapse of the structure. The Beverly Hills Fire Department arrived to find the building heavily ablaze and, after the roof began to give way, shifted to a defensive strategy, deploying aerial ladder trucks to spray high-volume water from above. Authorities closed the section of South Rexford Drive between Charleville Boulevard and Gregory Way to accommodate emergency vehicles.

Residents of neighboring apartments were quickly evacuated, while Beverly Vista Middle School, located across the street, issued a shelter-in-place directive for its students and staff. The City of Beverly Hills confirmed that no injuries have been reported despite the intensity of the fire.
