Rookie 49ers receiver De’Zhaun Stribling impresses with standout hands at camp

During the 49ers’ training camp, rookie wide receiver De’Zhaun Stribling is drawing notable compliments for his hand skills and route explosiveness. Cornerback Deommodore Lenoir described his fingertips as “strong,” while fellow corner Upton Stout praised both his hands and speed. Wide-receivers coach Leonard Hankerson added that Stribling not only catches the ball but also attacks the ball and excels in contested situations.

Drafted 33rd overall out of Ole Miss, the selection was initially questioned, yet the team’s need for a downfield threat has grown due to injuries to Ricky Pearsall and Mike Evans and the loss of Jauan Jennings. Stribling has been lining up on the outside at the F and X positions, consistently beating cornerbacks for separation and securing catches in traffic.
