Rosewood Hong Kong retains top spot in The 50 Best Hotels 2026 list

Rosewood Hong Kong has been named the number-one hotel for a second year in the 2026 edition of The 50 Best Hotels, announced at a ceremony in Paris.

At a live event in Les Salles du Carrousel, Paris, the 2026 edition of The 50 Best Hotels announced Rosewood Hong Kong as the top-ranked property, marking its second consecutive win since the list’s inception in 2023. The ceremony also highlighted Asia’s strength, with Capella Bangkok moving to No. 2 and Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River at No. 3, while Europe led the overall count of listed hotels. Hong Kong’s Upper House and The Peninsula also secured spots in the top ten, underscoring the city’s hospitality prominence.

The awards, now part of the newly named The 50 brand, rely on votes from more than 800 Academy members worldwide, ensuring geographic and gender balance. Individual honors were given to hotels such as Hotel du Couvent in Nice and Casa Maria Luigia in Modena, and industry figures like James McBride received the SevenRooms Icon Award.

Why it matters

The ranking showcases global hospitality trends and highlights Hong Kong’s resurgence as a luxury travel destination.
