ROSHN appoints Naaman Atallah as first permanent CEO in more than two years

Saudi developer ROSHN has named Naaman Atallah as its new chief executive, filling a vacancy that has existed since early 2024.

ROSHN Group announced that Naaman Atallah will assume the role of chief executive in the coming days, marking the first permanent appointment since early 2024. Atallah, who heads real-estate operations at Al-Futtaim, has previously held senior positions at Dubai Properties, Nakheel and Qatar's sovereign-wealth-fund developer Qatari Diar. The vacancy arose after British executive David Grover was removed and later sued the company for more than $100 million, a case he lost in a Saudi court.

Since then, Public Investment Fund executives have overseen ROSHN on an interim basis. The prolonged search reflects a broader pattern of management turnover at PIF-controlled companies, many of which now operate under acting leaders or shared responsibilities, such as John Pagano, who also oversees the King Abdullah Financial District and AlUla heritage site. The appointment aims to provide stable leadership as the kingdom pursues its economic transformation agenda.

Why it matters

A stable CEO can guide ROSHN through Saudi Arabia's cost-cutting drive and broader economic reform plans.
