ROX launches ADAMAS SUV production line in Abu Dhabi's Kezad zone

Chinese automaker ROX has begun assembling its ADAMAS SUV at a new factory in Abu Dhabi, with the first cars rolling off the line this week.

The production facility, located in the Kezad industrial zone, marks ROX's first manufacturing output in the United Arab Emirates after moving its global headquarters there last year. The company aims to reach a capacity of 20,000 vehicles by 2027 and scale up to 300,000 units by 2030 for both domestic sales and export. ROX is also tailoring models to regional preferences, planning an Abu Dhabi Edition inspired by the local Khoos weaving tradition. The move follows broader Gulf efforts to develop indigenous car industries, including Saudi-backed EV projects and Qatar's emerging interest.

Why it matters

The new plant shows the Gulf's growing role in automotive manufacturing and diversifies ROX's market reach.
