RSS weekly Organiser brands Sonia Gandhi's NAC as 'dimagi Naxal' takeover

In a recent issue, the RSS-affiliated weekly Organiser broadened Prime Minister Modi’s “dimagi Naxal” campaign by targeting the National Advisory Council (NAC), which operated under the UPA and was led by Sonia Gandhi. The outlet argues that the council allowed Maoist-style thinking to seep into policy formation, citing its involvement in landmark measures such as the Right to Information Act and the MGNREGA scheme. It also references the 2007 arrest of Sen, who later joined the Planning Commission’s health steering committee in 2011, as evidence of the council’s controversial links.

The Organiser portrays this as a classic takeover of governance by “dimagi Naxals,” aligning the critique with Modi’s Aug 15 launch of the anti-Naxal narrative. The article underscores the RSS’s view that the NAC’s inclusion of activists, academics and experts compromised the integrity of Indian policymaking.
