RTÉ launches €285,000 tender for occupational health service to curb long-term sick leave
Ireland's public broadcaster RTÉ has opened a €285,000 tender for a three-year occupational health contract aimed at better managing staff long-term sick leave.
RTÉ announced a €285,000 procurement for an occupational health and advisory service to assist in overseeing long-term sick leave among its employees. The three-year contract, extendable to five years, will be awarded through a public tender and will be based at a clinic close to the broadcaster's Dublin base. It replaces a prior five-year arrangement with Medmark.
The scope requires the contractor to work with RTÉ's human-resources department to raise standards of absenteeism management and facilitate timely return-to-work processes. Proposals must also include innovative, cost-efficient delivery methods. Employees can self-certify up to five sick days per year, after which a doctor's note is required, and long-term absences are covered by a salary protection insurance scheme funded partly by staff and RTÉ.
