Runner Finds Woman Stabbed to Death Near Trail in Affluent McLean Suburb
A morning jogger discovered an adult woman dead from a stabbing outside her car on a popular trail near McLean, Virginia.
Around 7 a.m., a runner in the Great Falls area of McLean, Virginia, reported an unconscious woman lying beside her car on Georgetown Pike. The woman, whose age was not disclosed, had suffered severe trauma to her upper body and was declared dead at the location, according to Fairfax County Police Capt. Jason Chandler. The incident is being classified as a fatal stabbing, and the vehicle was registered to the victim.
Detectives are actively following up on tips, canvassing for surveillance footage, and have not yet identified a suspect or released a description. Chandler emphasized that there is no immediate indication the crime was random and urged residents to report any suspicious activity.
